It's been a rocky and hard start to the new year. My grandmothers passed away. Sophia had walking pneumonia and I have had an upper respiratory infection that I just cannot shake. Ug. And I started my French lessons which means less time to explore Paris! Just kidding, housework has taken a hit - there is just too much to see and do around here!
I went to Notre Dame to pray for my cousin and light a candle - figured since the cathedral has been around since the 1200s it knows something about survival. I had forgotten how majestic and mystical the place is - you can really feel the weight of history and religious belief.

Awe inspiring - the architecture amazes me. The sacred hush that persists, despite the hoards of tourists and supplicants is humbling.
Things will sort themselves out - life goes on, the sun rises and sets, taxes are due. I am hoping to get out of this funk and start exploring and sharing my experiences again. In the meantime, stay warm!
