for those of you who know and love me, you understand how I feel about shoes. I LOVE shoes, the prettier the better, the higher the heel the sexier I feel. Unfortunately those two things DO NOT mix well with walking all over Paris! So now I have a dilemma - do I suffer for beauty and maintain my vanity or do I succumb to the allure of comfortable shoes and give in to, I hate to even write the words, Birkenstocks or Mephistos? I tried Geox - cutest sandals and they are ok, but my feet still ache. I have bought some inexpensive little ballet slippers but they take a severe beating and usually fall apart/scuff up horribly. What to do? How do those Parisian women navigate in those heels and why can't I? Manu says it's because they either aren't walking as far as we do or they take the subway or they are just immune. He's no help - I refuse to wear tennis shoes or trainers - that screams tourist, come mug me. Maybe I can make it work if I get a velib pass - the bike share program that allows you to use a bike for free for the first 30 minutes and then you pay. Just won't tell Manu - he thinks we will get killed by the crazy drivers - as if walking is any safer!
