So there is this exhibit that I have been wanting to see - "Désirs et Volupté à L'Époque Victorienne" - which is about the sensual and poetic esthetic of painters during the Victorian era. I finally was able to drag Manu and Sophia to the museum presenting the exhibit. It is in a lovely mansion on Boulevard Haussmann that was bequeathed to the city and a nice surprise - I didn't know about it til now!
Here is Sophia and I in the jardin - the building was covered with a drop cloth that had the museum printed on it - they are renovating or cleaning the facade.
And here are some of the wonderful paintings in the exhibit - some I have seen before in books and others were delightful to discover.
Then we got to tour the rest of the house - they had all sorts of lovely rooms ...
Turns out this is one of the hidden gems of Paris - they change out their exhibitions every six months with new collections. I think I will be a regular here! I hope you enjoyed this little taste of the Musee Jacquemart- Andre.
